ORS Nourishing Conditioner in a bottle?? (and other musings)

On Saturday I visited my local Pennywise beauty supply store with no definite intention of buying products; window shopping was the aim of the day.

That is, until my eyes fell casually on the Organic Root Stimulator Nourishing Conditioner............in a bottle!

IN A BOTTLE!!!

It will suffice to say that I snatched that bottle up, baby!

(Okay, I may be a little late on the scene...but I've only ever seen this conditioner in the sample packets, so excuse my enthusiasm!)

When my hair was relaxed this product was my favourite conditioner; it provided so much slip and softness to my hair! It continued to deliver when I began transitioning to natural hair, and although I've only used it a handful of times since being fully natural, I expect that it will still be a wunder-product for my kinks and coils.

The second product I bought was the Vo5 Tea Therapy Revitalizing Shampoo. I remember reading a favourable review of this product by a hair blogger months ago, so I decided to try it. I've used it once so far and it was gentle on my hair.

Thirdly, I purchased some shea butter by Ashanti Naturals. The first time I bought 100% natural shea butter it was by "Okay African Shea Butter". I never used that shea butter on my hair because I felt it was waay too sticky and I hate it when my hair feels like glue. I'll be uploading a separate post soon with how I plan to make a homemade shea butter mix for my hair.

And finally, every black woman's staple: bobby pins!

And my new side-kick: hair shears. I loved my first pair but whilst I was travelling it was taken from me in the airport (silent tears may have been shed).

"I don't need these products! I have too many already!!" - said no hair junkie ever.

My current products 2013

This past summer I updated my product stash, adding a few new products which have since become my staples.

Firstly, for the oldies:

I've had the Creme of Nature Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment for quite a while now, and I occasionly use it to deep condition my braids. The ORS HAIRepair Nourishing Conditioner will probably always be in my product list since it is very effective at softening and smoothing my hair.

Since putting in my current set of braids, I haven't deep conditioned as yet. Instead, I've been using my new Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Deep Treatment Masque.

This conditioner is definitely my current favourite! It contains less synthetic materials than mainstream conditioners and can be used as both a deep conditioner and a leave-in treatment. When I wore my transitioning fro some weeks ago, I used this treatment as a deep conditioner and it left my hair very soft and easy to detangle. Now that I'm wearing braids I use it as a leave-in treatment. Need another pro? It smells like pina colada! I fell completely in love the first time I got a sweet whiff from the jar.

Also new to my product list are the V05 Moisture Milks Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner in Passion Fruit Smoothie.

I do like the shampoo since I find it to be relatively gentle on my scalp. Unfortunately, it has a very thin consistency which I am not used to. I don't like runny shampoos- they are too messy to deal with for my taste. The conditioner is exactly like the V05 Strawberries and Cream in texture, but I definitely prefer the Strawberries and Cream scent.

Finally, I purchased My Honey Child Type 4 Hair Creme from amazon.com, after watching a review by jouelzy on youtube. She got very decent results with hold and moisture when styling her hair, so I decided to try it. When using it to create my transitioning fro I did notice that I get stronger, more moist curls the more product I apply. Since it is an oil and butter based product it has a thick, rich and very sticky texture.

Besides my trusty jojoba oil, that's my entire product stash! Quite minimalistic, don't you think?

Happy hair journey!

The Forgotten Conditioners

Dusty, forgotten and shunned...

...When I returned home I was confronted with the miserable sight of instant conditioners I had bought when I first started my hair journey...Conditioners that I soon forgot and have now come back to haunt me.

Okay, to be fair, I did like the Vo5 Moisture Milks, and that's probably why I have two bottles. Because it's cheap I decided to leave it at home when I went to university. I'll give that same reason of cost for why I abandoned the Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner, but the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration just wasn't very impressive.

Finally, I only used the Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut conditioner once on my relaxed hair and I hated it.
However, I'm willing to give it another chance...in fact, I plan to use up all of these conditioners.

Using them up might be a bit difficult since my hair is in braids, but I think that once I take my braids out, I'll mix each conditioner individually with hair oils and use them as pre-poo treatments.

I hope I remember to use them when the time comes!

How do you use up old products?

Shea Butter

Okay first of all...my exams are finished!! So I'm back on the blogsphere!

Okay secondly, on Wednesday I bought 'Okay Shea Butter White Chunky' from Pennywise in Trincity Mall.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that this brand has a website but disappointed that it didn't have much information about its suppliers. The packaging says "imported from Ghana" but I was interested in finding out if the company is involved in the actual shea butter production. Ah well...

The packaging says 100% natural so that's a plus! This shea butter also comes already whipped but I only spotted the chunky kind in the store.

Since researching natural hair care I found out that shea butter is very popular among naturals since it can be mixed with various hair oils to create a thick, creamy moisturizer.

Even though I'm only 11 weeks post (woop woop! New milestone) I thought that I should buy some shea butter to experiment with as my new growth grows out more and more.

So the plan is to get some new natural oils to mix with the butter. I used to use the ORS HAIRepair Vital Oils but I've gotten dissatisfied with it over time.

Here is an example of how shea butter can be mixed to create a personalized hair moisturizer:

Mini hair haul

Last Friday I went hair shopping, and although I had a long list of items to buy, these are all I ended up purchasing:

Can't wait to use my ORS Nourishing Conditioner! This is fantastic on my new growth, so I hope that it'll help to make my hair softer and decrease my manipulation issues.

I also bought a moisturizer from the new Shea Butter Miracle line from African Pride. I already use the original moisturizer I described here, but I took this one just to see if it'll be any different on my new growth.

New bobby pins! I'm sure every girl knows what it's like to have these disappear right under our nose! I shouldn't lose all 120 any time soon :)

First look: my new Hercules Sagemann seamless combs

I finally received my Hercules Sagemann seamless combs today!!

I purchased them online at hotcombs.net. I first learned about the Hercules Sagemann combs from Jeni of justgrowalready.com, who also owns combs from this brand.

I am so excited to use my new combs! I do have 8 weeks worth of new growth so I'll be very cautious when using them, even  though the combs are seamless.

The popular "Magic Star" jumbo rake comb, #5660.

The Contour, double-sided comb, #7370.

I initially wanted to purchase 3 different combs- a wide tooth, medium tooth and fine tooth comb, but at the time, both the medium and fine-tooth combs I wanted were not in stock.

As a result I bought the Contour comb, which has medium width teeth on one side and fine teeth on the other side. I think this should make detangling quicker as I simply have to flip the comb over instead of picking up a separate comb.

I plan to wash and condition my hair tomorrow, so I'll soon have a chance to test these combs out. I hope they really do reduce my manipulation and help to curb my breakage.

In terms of design, the combs are made of 100% hard rubber and they are a lot lighter than I anticipated. They both have a smooth black finish and the teeth are more flexible than my old combs.

Do you own a seamless comb? How does it compare to regular combs?

Thank you Mr Sagemann! (If you exist =O )

Small Hair Haul

Yesterday I went to one of my local beauty supply stores and bought two deep conditioners that I've been wanting to try for a while now:

1.
Organic Root Stimulator HAIRepair Nourishing Conditioner

Since the release of the ORS HAIRepair line I've been eager to try all of its products. I used the Vital Oils and the Moisture Creme and I liked them both, so I was glad to find samples of the Nourishing Conditioner.

I first saw this product reviewed by my favourite youtube guru, ulovemegz:

There are many more reviews by other women with relaxed hair. Some women thought it was mild/heavy protein treatment while for others it was more of a moisture treatment. What's interesting is that they all agree that this product made their hair soft but strong, and some said that it might not be ideal for weekly use. If my hair responds the same way, this conditioner might be good for my first wash day after getting a relaxer to really strengthen my hair after being striped of protein bonds and moisture.

2.

Creme of Nature Professional with Argan Oil  Intensive Conditioning Treatment

I'm sincerely hoping that this product is the same as the ones pictured below. The only difference I see from the packaging is that my bottle is all red, says "Professional" and the bottle holds 20 oz. I'm assuming that the formula is the same but the packaging is a little different because the size is bigger than the standard packaging.
cremeofnature.com

I'm excited to try both products and post a review in the new year. (That's 2 days away!! haha)
This has been my last hair haul for 2012! I wonder how many more products I'll try next year...hopefully I won't become a product junkie x.x

What were some of your favourite hair buys this year?

Love!

Softest, bouncy-est rollerset ever!

Last Sunday I washed my hair, and let me tell you, I had a blast!

On Wednesday 29th August I had my hair relaxed at a salon (stay tuned for my relaxer update!) at 8 weeks, 5 days post.
The major thing that struck me about my experience at the salon is that the lady didn't deep condition my hair after relaxing it. (Say WHAT?!)

It was only when she was rollersetting my hair that I realized this and asked her about it. She replied that I had to request a deep condition or she wouldn't do one. -.-
This explains why I was forced to make last Sunday a wash day, only four days after my relaxer.

I started by pre-pooing with the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque, which I reviewed here as a deep conditioner. Although I didn't like it for deep conditioning because it gives no slip, in my opinion it's good as a pre shampoo treatment.

Anyway! On to the good stuff.

This week my rollerset was the best I've ever done! In the past I've hardly ever gotten the soft, bouncy, moisturized and shiny results as I did on Sunday, so I'm recording what I did for future reference:

  • After pre-pooing, shampooing and deep conditioning I applied a generous dollop (about quarter sized or a bit larger) of my Neutrogena Silk Touch Leave-In Cream to each of the four sections that I washed and conditioned my hair in.
  • I then applied about half a pump of my Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum to each section of my hair.
  • I proceeded to detangle my hair and finally-
  • Rollerset, using a small spray bottle filled with water to moisten my hair as I rollerset each section.
  • After setting I used a blow-dryer on my hair for about an hour (taking a break in between! lol) to speed up my drying time
Et voila!

My hair was the bombbbbbb. Oh! Such soft and bouncy haaaaiiiirrrrr *swishes hair dramatically*
Plus!! Can you see from the picture above of how little hair I lost after detangling?! Ermergerddddd that's incredible! (I have a sneaking suspicion its only because I lost quite a bit of hair during my relaxer process with a new hair dresser...but maybe I'm just paranoid! =P)

I will definitely repeat the steps above on my next wash day! :) My results almost compensated for my nightmarish wash day experience the week before at 8 weeks post.

'Tis all for now!

Unfortunate wash day @ 8 weeks post: learning from my mistakes

On this last stretch I encountered increased breakage that I've never experienced past 6 weeks post since on my hair journey. During my last wash on Saturday at 8 weeks post, my hair emerged from the shower extremely tangled and matted! :( Unfortunately I didn't have my detangler on hand and so it took the better part of an hour to detangle. Even with my patience I ended up with a large ball of broken and shed hair! If that wasn't enough, I think my hair was starting to break at the demarcation line, something I've almost never experienced before. Grrrr

Looking back I can try to evaluate some possible causes of my unusual wash day experience:

  • My regimen, even at 8 weeks post was exactly the same as at my first weeks post relaxer
I think this point may be the root of my problems. I've often read many relaxed ladies describe the changes they make to their regimen as they go deeper into a relaxer stretch. I know I should have adapted my regimen too, but honestly, ain't nobody got time for that! LOL

Ok back to being serious....

I think that as my hair gets deeper into a stretch:
  1. I may experience issues with porosity as my cuticles remained raised (from repeated airdrying) This increases the chance of my hair losing moisture faster, remaining in a weak state and thus snapping and breaking off.
  2. I need to condition more often. Co-washing mid-week may help restore precious moisture to the line of demarcation between my natural and relaxed hair, helping to restore elasticity and prevent breakage.
  3. My hair needs. more. protein. Now its a proven fact that my hair loves protein! I definitely think that from 7 weeks post and onwards I should use the Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise to deep condition weekly. This conditioner has more protein than my weekly staple conditioner (ORS Replenishing Conditioner)
  4. From 6 weeks post I repeatedly had my hair braided, (cornrowed) several times a weeks. Although the manipulation done to create this style might have increased my breakage slightly, I'm inclined to think that the first three points made my issues worse.
I'm going to try to make a conscience effort to adapt my regimen as I go deeper into my relaxer stretches. Using the points above, I'll draft a new regimen, post it and evaluate its effectiveness at preventing (and stopping!) any potential breakage, tangles and knots at 8 weeks post relaxer.

How do you adapt your regimen during your relaxer stretches?

'Tis all for now!

Product Review: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque

This is another product I bought on my CVS visit last week. Like the Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum, this wasn't on my wishlist. I did buy it because I remembered reading about the Shea Moisture brand which is supposed to be of high quality (plus, it produces organic products).

Evaluation: The texture of the product is extremely light and fluffly: "whipped" I think is the exact description. In the jar it looked quite nice but when I scooped it out it got messy. I was actually a bit annoyed at the consistency! lol I'm accustomed to using thick, heavy deep conditioners so the Shea Moisture was a bit tricky to control. I'm pretty sure some ended up flying across the bathroom floor. lol
The smell I found to be a bit overpowering but I have no major no complaints about it.

I left it on my hair for about an hour with no heat because I didn't bring my heat cap with  me on vacation.

Results: The first thing I can say about this product is that it left my hair with no slip at all! (Slip= the silky feeling of one's hair experienced after washing out conditioner.) After rinsing, my hair did feel moisturized but also a bit rough. Detangling took longer than usual because my hair was not lubricated by the product and so there was a lot of friction between it and the comb.

Overall, I don't think I would re-purchase this product but I'm going to find away to adapt it. Adding olive oil or my Organic Root Stimulator HAIRepair Vital Oils to it might improve the slip.

I wonder if natural-haired ladies like this product more?

Lesson: thoroughly research hair products before buying on a whim!

Happy hairrrrr

Product Review: Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum

Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum

Now that I'm in the States on vacation I've been able to access a lot more products than are available where I live in the Caribbean. For example, last week I was browsing CVS and saw the Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum. Now this wasn't on my wishlist but I remembered reading Jen of justgrowalready.com review it on her blog.

According to Jen the product helped to reduce her breakage significantly. That news was enough for me! lol I bought the Organix and proceeded to test its amazing abilities.

The directions on the back of the product said to use on towel-dried hair. Well, being on a hair journey is all about experimentation ;) So far I've been using it on my dry hair to moisturize my ends. I've also moisturized my hair with my ORS HAIRepair Intense Moisture Creme and then sealed with the Organix.

The serum is quite thick and it has a nice, sweet coconut smell. When I first sniffed the bottle I thought the scent would be too heavy on my hair. When I actually applied it I hardly noticed the smell on my hair!

I've been using this for about four days and I'm pleasantly surprised that it has indeed noticeably cut down on my breakage. I only notice two to three broken strands at most when I comb my hair. I'm excited to keep using it and report my progress. If it continues to meet expectations, I may defer buying the Herbal Essences Touchably Smooth Leave-In Split End Protector and just use the Organix.

Have you used any Organix products? What are your experiences?

Happy huurrrr-day

Wash day & air-dried hair

Yesterday I did a pre-shampoo treatment, (pre-poo), shampooed and deep conditioned my hair.

The products I used include:

Pre-poo

ORS HAIRepair Vital Oils, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturising Conditioner, Applicator bottle with the ORS, olive oil and eucalyptus oil.
Pre-pooing with the Herbal Essences was definitely a good idea. When I rinsed it out my hair already felt soft, smooth and conditioned. =)

Shampoo and Deep Conditioner

Motions Professional Lavish Conditioning Shampoo,  ORS Hair Mayonnaise

Today I tried (read: tried) to strand test my hair to see if it needed more moisture or protein. My hair did feel a bit stretchy, and since I relaxed my hair five days ago, I went with protein. (ORS Hair Mayonnaise)

After lightly towel-drying my hair, I applied some Neutragena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave in Cream and sealed with ORS HAIRepair Vital Oils (I will never get enough of this product!) Then I air-dried my hair in the four sections I washed it in. When it was about 40% dry I detangled. Detangling was muchhh easier than the last time when I air-dried my hair. I think its because I let my hair dry a bit before using a comb. When I detangle on soaking wet hair, it just clumps together again and causes more tangles loool.

I was thinking of doing a flexirod set, but my hair was so soft and straight that I'll wait until the weekend when I have an event to go to. =)

Happy huurrrday!

Hair Wish List

1. Herbal Essences Touchably Smooth Split End Protector

This product was formerly the HE Long Term Relationship Leave In Split End Protector (the red bottle) and it got an upgraded look. Many ladies on their hair journeys have praised the Spilt End Protector for reducing breakage, so this is definitely on my list! Watch my favourite youtuber ulovemegz's review here.

2. Seamless combs (Diane rake comb)

Seamless combs are made from one single piece of material, whether bone, wood or other. Consequently they don't have the annoying seams (or ridges) between the teeth that can snag hair and cause it to break. Above is a seamless comb I've had my eye on for a while!

3. Ouchless elastics

These elastics have no metal seams that can get caught in the hair and cause breakage.

4. Cute satin/silk head scarves
This will be perfect for tying my hair down at night, as well as to wear as a style during my stretches...or just lazy days! lol

5. ApHogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer
According to aphogee.com : "Apply to wet or dry hair without rinsing. This one step formula combines the strengthening properties of keratin protein with the antioxidant benefits of green tea.  It helps reduce breakage and split ends and adds body to limp, lifeless hair.  Active ingredients bond into the hair shaft with natural body heat or heat from styling tools. ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer is especially recommended for at home care of relaxed or permed hair and may be used between shampoos during touch up styling.  It also protects hair color. 8 oz."

I think that speaks for itself! Jen of justgrowalready.com and Ebony of longing4length.com both use this.

6. GVP ceramic flat iron

I've never had a flat iron but when I get the chance to purchase one this will be it! Generic Value Products (GVP) produce low-end versions of high-end goods. This is lauded to be a pretty good substitute for more expensive flat irons like the Farouk CHI.

'Tis all for now!

Happy Hair

ORS HAIRepair Vital Oils: My Review

LOVEE love love love! Those are the best words I can use to describe my feelings towards this product.

The Vital Oils is a blend of oils including: grape seed, soybean, sweet almond and corn oils. Other ingredients include horsetail extract (weird, I know!), awapuhi, nettle and rosemary extracts. The product is geared towards dry hair and scalp, which is exactly what I need!

One of the best features of this oil is that it's verrry light. I can apply this twice a day without my hair feeling weighed down. It's probably because the oil is so light that I have to use more than I would with a heavier product! I've had it for about a month and the bottle is half empty. lool. I use it for hot oil treatments (my hair feels so soft afterwards!) as well as to oil my scalp and seal my hair.

The major benefit of this oil is that when I use it consistently twice or more a week, I experience less dry scalp and flaking. This is a big relief for me because my seborrhoeic dermatitis  leaves my scalp itchy, dry and with ugly dandruff.

How can I forget? All of the HAIRepair products, in my opinion, have a very appealing, sweet smell that I can't get enough of.

Once again, Organic Root Stimulator has produced what I call a bombshell product. Love it!

Bought any of the HAIRepair products? What do you think about them?

Love live ORS!

Organic Root Stimulator HAIRepair products

I was attracted to the ORS HAIRepair line because recently my favourite youtuber ulovemegz used this line and received some free products from Namaste. She orginally posted about the Nourishing Conditioner (see below) which she loooooooves.

Unfortunately, my beauty supply store didn't have this, but I did get the Intense Moisture Creme and the Vital Oils for Hair & Scalp:

I'm super excited to use these! The first thing I noticed is that they smell amazing, lol. Recently my hair has been very bleeh: kind of heavy, dense and a bit sticky...not the usual soft and silky feeling =( Honestly, I realized whenever I pincurl my hair or wear braidouts too long my hair gets like this. I also think that using the Neutragena Triple Moisture Silk Leave-In Cream too often makes my hair sticky.
For my next wash, I'm going to try the saran wrap/silk method to straighten out my hair, then Ima use my HAIRepair products!

See the video below for ulovemegz's review of the Nourishing Conditioner:

Have you ever used the HAIRepair products? What are your thoughts??

Cheers!

Is this what you call a hair "haul"?

ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner, wide tooth comb, Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner "Moisture Works", grey head band =)

This past week I bought a couple of new hair products...to the dismay of my momma. lool!

The ORS is new in that I've never bought the Replenishing Conditioner in the bottle. I always used the Replenishing Paks. Now that I know that they are one and the same, I'll be buying the 12fl oz from now on, thank you very much =)

Second, I bought a (relatively) wide tooth comb. Its not seamless though. I've been having quite a hard time finding seamless combs!

Third! Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner for dry or damaged hair. This was a spontaneous purchase, and I had to endure my sister's rant on the evils of hair products for caucasian hair before I could buy it. Yeah...it had no impact on me, lool =P. I bought this in the hope that it'll really moisturize my poor, dry hair. It better work for me!

Lastly...a cute grey headband...that's about it =)

Everything but the Garnier was bought at beauty supply stores-the supermarket supplied the Garnier Fructis. Can't wait to use it soon!

A different hairdresser and vitamins

Today I visited my sister's hairdresser in the hope of having a more pleasant experience than I ususally have at my stylist. In part, I did. The lady sounded like she studied the Science of Black Hair. *applause please* Unlike my hairdresser back home, she talked to me about moisture/protein levels, detangling properly, gentle care and the dryness and fragile nature of black hair. In short, she sounded knowledgeable and professional... quite unlike my stylist!

Unfortunately, I emerged quite disturbed at her opinion that my hair seems to be doing poorly. I have noticed over the past month or so that my hair is breaking more than usual, but that was about it. However, after emerging from the deep conditioner, my hair was hard, tangly and rough. Let me tell you, I think she just used the wrong products, but what did she blame? Swollen cuticles from bum bum bummmmm... airdrying.
Yesss I have been airdrying my hair everytime I wash. Isn't that good? According to the hairdresser its not good for my hair seeing as it's so dry. =(
I wasn't sure what to believe, but I did agree with her that I need to learn how to rollerset my hair after washing. Ughh

On the other hand! Today I also bought vitamins to help support my hair's health.

One A Day Teen Advantage complete multivitamin for Her
This one is packed full of the good stuff: Vitamin Bs, Iron, Biotin (yaaay!) plus calcium and other goodies for overal health.
I'll be honest with you, I've known vitamins are good for hair journeys but I finally bought them because of how beautiful my sister's hair has been since she's been on them! She uses Centrum vitamins for women though. Seeing as she's a....young adult -.-
Boom! Come at me vitamins! Pleease help to strengthen my hair and promote growth!

Happy hair day!

One week post and such.

So last Saturday 10th March I had my hair relaxed at my hairdresser....
On the positive side, my roots came out pretty straight!

Meanwhile, I suffered quite a few burns as she used an extra-strength relaxer formula...

Whyyy meeeee?
I mean, I know my hair can be considered "coarse" but aren't hairdressers supposed to ask before they change your relaxer??
Serves me right for not saying anything about it!
Anyway, I've since deepconditioned and washed (in that order) once since getting a relaxer and I'm nursing my poor scalp back to health.

May- I'm relaxing my hair myself!

On the other bright side, I'm back to collar bone length!! woot! Pictures to come sooon.
Finally, here are a couple products I recently bought which I'll hopefully be trying out this month.

VO5 Moisture Milks Strawberry and Cream Moisturizing Conditioner, Neutragena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In and ORS Hair Mayonnaise
I'm interested in "co-washing", though my mom seems pretty skeptical lol.

Happy hair journey!

Experimenting with my regimen

Since I started my hair journey in December of last year I've been on a mission to experiment with a wide variety of products and techniques to find out what works for my hair.
So far, the products I've bought/been using include:

Vitale Olive Oil Deep Moisturizing Shampoo
Neutragena Triple Moisture Shampoo
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner (doesn't quite help with the tangles. Maybe I should add oils?)
Organic Root Stimulator Replinishing Pak (this is a deep conditioner, and my hair loves this!)
Vitale Olive Oil Moisturizer (has a lotion-y consistency but it does the trick)
Coconut to seal (almost out, looks like I'll be making more over the fire! lool)
ORS Olive Oil Wrap/Set Mouse
ORS Olive Oil Glossing Polisher

I bought the ORS Hair Mayonnaise but haven't mustered the courage to use it yet. I'm nervous about whether it will agree with my hair or make it tangly and stiff.

Last week I deep conditioned on dry hair before my shampoo for about 2 hours (didn't originally mean to go so long!) I definately didn't leave it in too long because in I must say that my experience it was AWESHOME. My hair was incredibly soft, had less tangles and less hair came out in the detangling after I washed it out and shampooed with the Vitale. I am definately going to continue deep conditioning on dry hair!

Additionally, I look forward to adding oils in my dc to spice it up. So far I have my coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and now, eucalyptus oil. I'm going to be mixing the EVOO and eucalyptus oil and applying it to my scalp to see if it helps with the dermatitis and itching. Some tea tree oil might help too!

Other products I want to try: Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In Split End Corrector and Neutragena Triple Moisture Silk Leave-In

Oh! Almost forgot. I got my new growth relaxed yesterday! =) Will post more info later on how that went.
